FOOD TRUCK MAINTENANCE

Monthly Checks

​

  1. Engine oil level.

  2.  The function of all interior and exterior lights.

  3. Tires (including spare) for wear and proper pressure.

  4. Windshield washer fluid level.

   

Check Every Six Months

​

  1. Battery connections. Clean if necessary.

  2. Body and door drain holes for obstructions. Clean if necessary.

  3. Cooling system fluid level and coolant strength.

  4. Door weather strips for wear. Lubricate if necessary.

  5. Hinges, latches, and outside locks for proper operation. Lubricate if necessary.

  6. Parking brake for proper operation.

  7. Safety belts and seat latches for wear and function.

  8. Safety warning lamps (brake, ABS, airbag, and safety belt) for operation.

  9. Washer spray and wiper operation. Clean or replace blades as necessary.

​Every 7500 Miles (12000 km) or Six Months (whichever comes first)

​

  1. Change engine oil and filter.

  2. Rotate tires*, inspect tire wear, and measure tread depth.

  3. Inspect wheels and related components for abnormal noise, wear, looseness, or drag.

  4. Perform multi-point inspection (recommended). * Vehicles with dual rear wheels should rotate the front wheels when specified; rear wheels should be rotated only if unusual wear is noted.

​Every 15000 Miles (24000 km) or 12 Months (whichever comes first)

​

  1. Inspect automatic transmission fluid level. Consult dealer for requirements.

  2. Inspect brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake linings, hoses, and parking brakes.

  3. Inspect engine cooling system strength and hoses.

  4. Inspect exhaust system and heat shields.

  5. Inspect steering linkage, ball joints, suspension, tie-rod ends, drive shaft and U-joints. Lubricate if equipped with grease fittings.

Other Maintenance Items Every 30000 Miles (48000 km)

​

  1. Change automatic transmission fluid and filter. Consult dealer for requirements. 

​

​Every 60000 Miles (96000 km)

​

  1. Replace front wheel bearing grease and grease seal if non-sealed bearings are used.

  2. Replace spark plugs.  

 

Every 97,500 Miles (157000 km)

​

  1. Change engine coolant.*   

 

Every 105000 Miles (168000 km)

​

  1. Replace rear axle fluid. Inspect accessory drive belt(s).**

  2. Replace accessory drive belt(s) if not replaced within the last 100000 miles (160000 km).

 

Every 150000 Miles (240000 km)

​

  1. Replace front wheel bearings and seals if non-sealed bearings are used. * Initial replacement at six years or 105000 miles (168000 kilometers),
